Upcoming Blessings From the Benvolent South Carolina StateHouse

December 14, 2024

Even with just a foretaste of the fruits of the hard work and benevolence of our magnificent state legislature, evident in the mere 561 pre-filed bills on the first day (of three) for pre-filing proposed laws, it is clear great things are coming for us all!

Transfer of Wealth

Great idea, already embedded into our national culture anyway. Best idea when you are the payee; maybe not so good for the rest of us who will pay,...and pay,...and pay.

More Special Interest Groups

If you don’t meet the eligibility criteria for one of these groups, well, “So sorry, so sad.” You’ll win the prize of being part of the masses who pay and/or suffer from not being awarded the benefits others clearly deserve so much more than you. Don’t feel bad. They are special; you are not.

Tracking

Otherwise called “surveillance.”

Standardization

Of people, practices, standard of living, opportunities, choices, etc. So much easier when all your decisions are made for you. And by those who are so much wiser too. If “standardization” somehow seems the opposite of “diversity,” well, as humans we have developed extraordinary abilities to hold opposing views in our brains and believe them both with ease. Confusion is clarity! It’s positively amazing! So enlightened are we.

Tyrannical State Control

The extent of human activity targeted by specific laws is chilling.

Minimizing Personal Responsibility

Laws are being created so that government will do almost everything for everyone—take a look at the latest offers!! And if you might have made a mistake that would, in the archaic world of the past, have resulted in certain unpleasant consequences, lots of new laws will free you from those inequities. The glory of social justice—finally!

Elimination of Freedom

State Level Laws to Eliminate Individual and Collective Choice—all over the place! All you have to do is...Nothing! Just let it happen.

Myriads of Laws Covering Minute Details

Not to be limited to an irritatingly vague control over the big and important parts of life, our benevolent law-making machine is getting right down into the nitty-gritty, working to overlook nothing in any field in case “best practices” may evolve, change, and develop naturally. Worried about regulations? No problem. State-level laws are the perfect antidote for everything. As they say, “The devil’s in the details!”

Enactment of Laws by Those Who Know Nothing about the Field

Legislators are omniscient, so who wants to rely on those who actually work in or know something about the field? Only our esteemed legislators are capable of making the most brilliant, noble, and just decisions. Who cares who tells them how to vote—we don’t need to spend our time looking out for our best interests when “experts” will do that for us.

Enforcement by the Police Power of the State

Let’s not forget reverence and obedience to the State, wonderful and thoughtful purveyor of security for all. Every law might increase the tyrannical power of the State, but we’re pretty used to that anyway.
